Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2005 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian Paintings, which included the work By The Waters of Babylon by Henry Lejeune. The price achieved of GBP 960.00 (€ 1,410.36) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry Lejeune achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Bite in April 2003 with an auction result of USD 19,120.00 (€ 15,570.03).
