Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2008 Christies in New York held the auction Sporting and Wildlife Art, which included the work A National Hunt start: Racing in the colors of Sir John King, Lady Willoughby de Broke, Lord Cadogan and Lord Rosebury by Henry Koehler. The price achieved of USD 5,625.00 (€ 4,041.24) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by Henry Koehler have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work American The 1973 Belmont Jockeys in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 40,000.00 (€ 27,233.12).
