Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2012 Christies in London held the auction Travel, Science and Natural History, which included the work An album of 32 photographs of Sydney and its environs, including: Circular Quay, Sydney from Milson's Point North Shore; Coogee Beach, Sydney; The Esplanade Manly; Fig Tree, Lane Cove River, Sydney, Parramatta River, from North Shore; Spit Road, Midd by Henry John Yeend King. The price achieved of GBP 625.00 (€ 766.55) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 500.00 – 700.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry John Yeend King achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Haymaking in June 2000 with an auction result of GBP 47,000.00 (€ 74,500.79).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 625,00 (€ 766,55) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 500,00 – 700,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Henry John Yeend King erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Haymaking im Juni 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 47.000,00 (€ 74.500,79).
