Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2004 Christies in London held the auction Maritime Pictures, which included the work Fishermen pulling in their nets off a fortified headland by Henry King Taylor. The price achieved of GBP 1,075.50 (€ 1,613.65) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Henry King Taylor - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Shipping in a heavy swell in the Channel off Dover, which sold at auction in November 2011 for GBP 5,250.00 (€ 6,128.84).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion Maritime Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Fishermen pulling in their nets off a fortified headland von Henry King Taylor zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.075,50 (€ 1.613,65) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Henry King Taylor mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Shipping in a heavy swell in the Channel off Dover beobachtet, die im November 2011 für GBP 5.250,00 (€ 6.128,84) versteigert wurde.
