Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Henry Clarence Whaite could be acquired at Christies in London in June 2005 for an unexpectedly low price. In the MARITIME PICTURES AND WATERCOLOURS auction, the work Moonrise, Llyn-Taryn, North Wales changed hands for GBP 480.00 (€ 711.39) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00. Admittedly, works by Henry Clarence Whaite have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Down from the mountain in September 2001 with an auction result of GBP 3,055.00 (€ 4,932.52).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Henry Clarence Whaite konnte im Juni 2005 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Henry Clarence Whaite auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Down from the mountain im September 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.055,00 (€ 4.932,52).
