Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Mouth of the Thames by Henry Bishop was auctioned at Christies in London in April 2005. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 1,800.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 2,040.00 (€ 3,019.50). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Henry Bishop - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Bridge before the Salute, Venice, which sold at auction in October 2003 for GBP 5,170.00 (€ 7,551.26).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Mouth of the Thames von Henry Bishop kam im April 2005 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 1.800,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 2.040,00 (€ 3.019,50) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Henry Bishop mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Bridge before the Salute, Venice beobachtet, die im Oktober 2003 für GBP 5.170,00 (€ 7.551,26) versteigert wurde.
