Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2011 a collector was able to acquire the work Buildings At The Water'S Edge by Henrietta Mabel May for CAD 9,000.00 (€ 6,558.83). This price was achieved in the auction Important Canadian Art at Sothebys in Toronto and was even below the estimate range of CAD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Henrietta Mabel May - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Mother House, which sold at auction in May 2011 for CAD 22,800.00 (€ 16,370.45).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im November 2011 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Buildings At The Water'S Edge von Henrietta Mabel May für CAD 9.000,00 (€ 6.558,83) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Important Canadian Art bei Sothebys in Toronto erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von CAD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Henrietta Mabel May mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Mother House beobachtet, die im Mai 2011 für CAD 22.800,00 (€ 16.370,45) versteigert wurde.
