Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Bouquet De Jardin by Henri Fantin-Latour was auctioned at Christies in New York in October last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 600,000.00 – 900,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 403,200.00 (€ 405,878.80). Admittedly, works by Henri Fantin-Latour have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Bouquet de fleurs in November 2000 with an auction result of USD 3,526,000.00 (€ 4,055,670.58).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Bouquet De Jardin von Henri Fantin-Latour im Oktober letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 600.000,00 – 900.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 403.200,00 (€ 405.878,80) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Henri Fantin-Latour auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Bouquet de fleurs im November 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.526.000,00 (€ 4.055.670,58).
