Auction result well in line with expectations
In October last year Christies in London held the auction Churchill to Eden: The Collection of the Earl and Countess of Avon, which included the work San Giorgio Maggiore, Venice by Henri de Waroquier. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,638.00 (€ 1,908.25) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Henri de Waroquier - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Cristal, Agate Et Coquillages - 1911, which sold at auction in April 2017 for EUR 5,200.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober letzten Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion Churchill to Eden: The Collection of the Earl and Countess of Avon durch, in der auch die Arbeit San Giorgio Maggiore, Venice von Henri de Waroquier zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.638,00 (€ 1.908,25) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Henri de Waroquier mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Cristal, Agate Et Coquillages - 1911 beobachtet, die im April 2017 für EUR 5.200,00 versteigert wurde.
