Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2002 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art Including Orientalist Pictures, which included the work A gathering outside a Dutch hostelry by Henri Adolphe Schaep. It changed hands for a price of GBP 4,700.00 (€ 7,359.96) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Henri Adolphe Schaep have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Hafenansicht. 1851. in September 2019 with an auction result of CHF 46,660.00 (€ 42,881.85).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion 19th Century European Art Including Orientalist Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit A gathering outside a Dutch hostelry von Henri Adolphe Schaep zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 4.700,00 (€ 7.359,96) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Henri Adolphe Schaep auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Hafenansicht. 1851. im September 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CHF 46.660,00 (€ 42.881,85).
