This artwork by Hendrik Valk achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in March 2009. In the Nineteen to Now - 'Art from the 19th, 20th & 21st centuries' auction, the work Strandcafé sold for EUR 5,000.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 2,200.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Hendrik Valk; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Straatzangeres sold at auction in December 2008 with the realized price of EUR 5,250.00.

Dieses Kunstwerk von Hendrik Valk erzielte im März 2009 bei Christies in Amsterdam einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Nineteen to Now - 'Art from the 19th, 20th & 21st centuries' wurde die Arbeit Strandcafé für EUR 5.000,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 2.200,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Hendrik Valk; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Straatzangeres im Dezember 2008 mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 5.250,00.
