Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Javanese Dancer by Hendrik Paulides was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2014. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 81,250.00 (€ 8,364.92) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hendrik Paulides - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Gender Player, which sold at auction in April 2004 for HKD 454,100.00 (€ 29,476.26).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Javanese Dancer von Hendrik Paulides wurde im Oktober 2014 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 81.250,00 (€ 8.364,92) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Hendrik Paulides mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Gender Player beobachtet, die im April 2004 für HKD 454.100,00 (€ 29.476,26) versteigert wurde.
