Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2009 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master Paintings Day Sale, which included the work A Dutch Two-Master In A Stiff Breeze Before A Dutch Coastal Town, Possibly Den Briel by Hendrick Cornelisz. Vroom. The price achieved of GBP 49,250.00 (€ 55,883.99) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hendrick Cornelisz. Vroom - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The fishing fleet coming ashore at Scheveningen, their unloaded catch displayed for sale, and a whaler and a man o' war in the offing, which sold at auction in July 2021 for GBP 119,700.00 (€ 140,373.07).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 49.250,00 (€ 55.883,99) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden.
