Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Virgin Annunciate; and The Angel of the Annunciation by Hendrick Bloemaert was sold in the Important Old Master Paintings auction at Christies in New York in January 2001. The price achieved of USD 82,250.00 (€ 88,364.85) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 70,000.00 – 100,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hendrick Bloemaert achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An Allegory Of Winter in December 2014 with an auction result of GBP 866,500.00 (€ 1,115,472.85).
