Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work Freighter, Monte Carlo, 1992 by Helmut Newton for USD 15,000.00 (€ 10,776.64). This price was achieved in the auction Icons of Glamour and Style: The Constantiner Collection at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Helmut Newton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work "Big Nude III" (Variation), Paris in May last year with an auction result of USD 2,340,000.00 (€ 2,180,598.27).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Dezember 2008 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Freighter, Monte Carlo, 1992 von Helmut Newton für USD 15.000,00 (€ 10.776,64) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Icons of Glamour and Style: The Constantiner Collection bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Helmut Newton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit "Big Nude III" (Variation), Paris im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.340.000,00 (€ 2.180.598,27).
