Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Helene Schjerfbeck could be acquired at Sothebys in London in May 2018 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 19th Century European Paintings auction, the work Finnish Trees changed hands for GBP 68,750.00 (€ 78,287.81) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 70,000.00 – 100,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Helene Schjerfbeck achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tanssiaiskengät; Balskorna (Dancing Shoes) in May 2008 with an auction result of GBP 3,044,500.00 (€ 3,872,737.05).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Helene Schjerfbeck konnte im Mai 2018 bei Sothebys in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion 19th Century European Paintings wechselte die Arbeit Finnish Trees für GBP 68.750,00 (€ 78.287,81) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 70.000,00 – 100.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Helene Schjerfbeck erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Tanssiaiskengät; Balskorna (Dancing Shoes) im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.044.500,00 (€ 3.872.737,05).
