Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Finnish the Death Of Wilhelm Von Schwerin by Helene Schjerfbeck was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2013. The price achieved of GBP 122,500.00 (€ 147,412.35) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Helene Schjerfbeck achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tanssiaiskengät; Balskorna (Dancing Shoes) in May 2008 with an auction result of GBP 3,044,500.00 (€ 3,872,737.05).
