Auction result well in line with expectations

The work Frederick VI (1768-1839), King of Denmark 1808-1839, facing right in red General's uniform with blue facings and collar, silver epaulettes, wearing the blue moiré sash and breast star of the Royal Danish Order of the Elephant and the cross of the Ro by Heinrich Jakob Aldenrath was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2002. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 418.25 (€ 654.99) could thus just exceed the lower estimate.
