This artwork by He Linghan achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in September 2017. In the Fine Chinese Paintings auction, the work Calligraphic Couplet sold for USD 16,250.00 (€ 13,756.03) - well above the upper estimate of USD 6,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by He Linghan; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Calligraphy Couplet In Regular Script sold at auction in March 2016 with the realized price of USD 17,500.00 (€ 15,364.35).
