Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Landscape with Mountain 12 x 16 in. framed 17 3/4 x 21 3/4 in. by Harvey Otis Young was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in November this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 704.00 (€ 645.40). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Harvey Otis Young achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Autumn Near New Haven, Connecticut in April 2015 with an auction result of USD 16,250.00 (€ 14,558.32).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Landscape with Mountain 12 x 16 in. framed 17 3/4 x 21 3/4 in. von Harvey Otis Young im November diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 704,00 (€ 645,40) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Harvey Otis Young erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Autumn Near New Haven, Connecticut im April 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 16.250,00 (€ 14.558,32).
