This artwork by Harold Sutton Palmer achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in November 2000. In the BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS auction, the work A wooded river landscape sold for GBP 4,112.50 (€ 6,721.72) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Harold Sutton Palmer; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Wye Valley sold at auction in June 2002 with the realized price of GBP 5,019.00 (€ 7,763.26).
