Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2006 Christies in New York held the auction Orientalist Art, 19th Century European Art, which included the work The Nile; The Citadel of Cairo by Harry Humphrey Moore. The price achieved of USD 9,600.00 (€ 7,515.85) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Harry Humphrey Moore have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Preparing for the Dance in July 2021 with an auction result of GBP 32,760.00 (€ 38,417.89).

Im Oktober 2006 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Orientalist Art, 19th Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Nile; The Citadel of Cairo von Harry Humphrey Moore zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 9.600,00 (€ 7.515,85) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Harry Humphrey Moore auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Preparing for the Dance im Juli 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 32.760,00 (€ 38.417,89).
