This artwork by Harry Bertoia achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in December 2021. In the BERTOIA: The Sonambient Barn Collection auction, the work Untitled (Spill Cast Sculpture) sold for USD 88,200.00 (€ 77,928.96) - well above the upper estimate of USD 35,000.00. Admittedly, works by Harry Bertoia have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Screen From One Marine Midland Center, Buffalo, New York in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 790,000.00 (€ 747,964.40).

Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen

Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Harry Bertoia auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Screen From One Marine Midland Center, Buffalo, New York im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 790.000,00 (€ 747.964,40).
