Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

The work Untitled (Sonambient) by Harry Bertoia was sold in the BERTOIA: The Sonambient Barn Collection auction at Sothebys in New York in December 2021. Here, the upper estimate of USD 70,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 75,600.00 (€ 66,796.25). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Harry Bertoia achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Screen From One Marine Midland Center, Buffalo, New York in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 790,000.00 (€ 747,964.40).

Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen

Die Arbeit Untitled (Sonambient) von Harry Bertoia wurde im Dezember 2021 in der Auktion BERTOIA: The Sonambient Barn Collection bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 70.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 75.600,00 (€ 66.796,25) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Harry Bertoia erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Screen From One Marine Midland Center, Buffalo, New York im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 790.000,00 (€ 747.964,40).
