This artwork by Harry Bertoia achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in December 2021. In the BERTOIA: The Sonambient Barn Collection auction, the work Untitled (Sonambient) sold for USD 277,200.00 (€ 244,919.60) - well above the upper estimate of USD 120,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Harry Bertoia - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Screen From One Marine Midland Center, Buffalo, New York, which sold at auction in November 2015 for USD 790,000.00 (€ 747,964.40).

Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen

Dieses Kunstwerk von Harry Bertoia erzielte im Dezember 2021 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion BERTOIA: The Sonambient Barn Collection wurde die Arbeit Untitled (Sonambient) für USD 277.200,00 (€ 244.919,60) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 120.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Harry Bertoia mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Screen From One Marine Midland Center, Buffalo, New York beobachtet, die im November 2015 für USD 790.000,00 (€ 747.964,40) versteigert wurde.
