This price was achieved in the auction BERTOIA: The Sonambient Barn Collection at Sothebys in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 80,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Harry Bertoia; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Screen From One Marine Midland Center, Buffalo, New York sold at auction in November 2015 with the realized price of USD 790,000.00 (€ 747,964.40).
