Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Harold Hope Read could be acquired at Christies in London in July 2006 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British and Continental Watercolours auction, the work The Vacant Bandstand (Illustrated); Cars And Automobiles On The Front; And Fishermen'S Huts And A Lamplighter On The Promenade changed hands for GBP 60.00 (€ 87.83) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 200.00 – 300.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Harold Hope Read achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Redressing The Window; London Fashions in March 2007 with an auction result of GBP 1,920.00 (€ 2,826.02).
In der Auktion British and Continental Watercolours wechselte die Arbeit The Vacant Bandstand (Illustrated); Cars And Automobiles On The Front; And Fishermen'S Huts And A Lamplighter On The Promenade für GBP 60,00 (€ 87,83) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 200,00 – 300,00.
