Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2003 Christies in Melbourne held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included the work Girl with a Cat by Harold Greenhill. Here, the upper estimate of AUD 4,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for AUD 4,112.50 (€ 2,276.45). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Harold Greenhill - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Fisherman's Beach, 1946, which sold at auction in August this year for AUD 9,102.00 (€ 5,431.47).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2003 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Girl with a Cat von Harold Greenhill zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von AUD 4.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für AUD 4.112,50 (€ 2.276,45) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Harold Greenhill mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Fisherman's Beach, 1946 beobachtet, die im August diesen Jahres für AUD 9.102,00 (€ 5.431,47) versteigert wurde.
