The work Yang terus tumbuh (Continue to grow) by Haris Purnomo was worth HKD 667,500.00 (€ 54,952.92) to a buyer in May 2008. This price was achieved in the auction Southeast Asian Modern and Contemporary Art at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 75,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Haris Purnomo; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Prosesi Bayi 2 sold at auction in April 2008 with the realized price of HKD 991,500.00 (€ 81,712.13).
