Despite a disappointment, a good price for Harald Schumacher
When the work La Scuola di San Marco, Venice by Harald Schumacher was auctioned at Christies in London in January 2006, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 216.00 (€ 316.59). Despite this disappointing result, La Scuola di San Marco, Venice is the most expensive artwork by Harald Schumacher that we have observed at auction so far.
