Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Young woman in the moor by Hans Smidth was auctioned at Bruun Rasmussen in October this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of DKK 3,000.00 – 4,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for DKK 1,850.00 (€ 247.88). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hans Smidth achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Scenery from an old fisherman's house on Fur in January 2024 with an auction result of DKK 8,000.00 (€ 6,991.78).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Young woman in the moor von Hans Smidth im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Bruun Rasmussen versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von DKK 3.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für DKK 1.850,00 (€ 247,88) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hans Smidth erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Scenery from an old fisherman's house on Fur im Januar 2024 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von DKK 8.000,00 (€ 6.991,78).
