Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of a lady, bust-length by Hans Memling was auctioned at Christies in London in July this year. The price achieved of GBP 1,068,500.00 (€ 1,246,615.65) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800,000.00 – 1,200,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hans Memling - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Christ Blessing, which sold at auction in February 2013 for USD 4,114,500.00 (€ 3,145,882.71).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait of a lady, bust-length von Hans Memling kam im Juli diesen Jahres bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.068.500,00 (€ 1.246.615,65) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 800.000,00 – 1.200.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Hans Memling mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Christ Blessing beobachtet, die im Februar 2013 für USD 4.114.500,00 (€ 3.145.882,71) versteigert wurde.
