Despite a disappointment, a good price for Hans Caspar Lang
When the work Fame by Hans Caspar Lang was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January 2009, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 3,125.00 (€ 2,440.64). Despite this disappointing result, Fame is the most expensive artwork by Hans Caspar Lang that we have observed at auction so far.
Trotz Enttäuschung ein guter Preis für Hans Caspar Lang
Als die Arbeit Fame von Hans Caspar Lang im Januar 2009 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 3.125,00 (€ 2.440,64) den Besitzer. Trotz dieses enttäuschenden Ergebnisses ist Fame das teuerste Kunstwerk von Hans Caspar Lang, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
