In October 2006 Christies in New York held the auction Orientalist Art, 19th Century European Art, which included the work The Jewelry Maker by Gyula Tornai. The auction ended at the price of USD 18,000.00 (€ 14,092.23), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gyula Tornai achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Travelling Musicians, Tangier in December 2014 with an auction result of GBP 170,500.00 (€ 219,490.04).

Im Oktober 2006 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Orientalist Art, 19th Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Jewelry Maker von Gyula Tornai zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 18.000,00 (€ 14.092,23) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gyula Tornai erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Travelling Musicians, Tangier im Dezember 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 170.500,00 (€ 219.490,04).
