The auction ended at the price of USD 30,000.00 (€ 22,622.73), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by Gyula Tornai have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Travelling Musicians, Tangier in December 2014 with an auction result of GBP 170,500.00 (€ 219,490.04).

Die Arbeit Hungarian The Jewelry Maker von Gyula Tornai wurde im März 2009 in der Auktion A Collection of Orientalist Art bei Sothebys in Doha versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 30.000,00 (€ 22.622,73) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gyula Tornai auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Travelling Musicians, Tangier im Dezember 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 170.500,00 (€ 219.490,04).
