In January 2009 Christies in London held the auction 20C British Art, which included the work Polperro, Cornwall by Gyrth Russell. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 4,025.00 (€ 4,530.80), 34% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gyrth Russell - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Topsham, Devon, which sold at auction in September 2006 for GBP 7,200.00 (€ 10,621.52).

Im Januar 2009 führte Christies in London die Auktion 20C British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Polperro, Cornwall von Gyrth Russell zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 4.025,00 (€ 4.530,80) und damit 34% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Gyrth Russell mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Topsham, Devon beobachtet, die im September 2006 für GBP 7.200,00 (€ 10.621,52) versteigert wurde.
