Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Diners by Guy Pène du Bois was sold in the American Art auction at Sothebys in New York in December 2020. The price achieved of USD 252,000.00 (€ 206,050.70) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Guy Pène du Bois - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Crowd [Self-Portrait|AID239202], which sold at auction in November 2012 for USD 602,500.00 (€ 463,105.30).
