Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2018 a collector was able to acquire the work Fly Fisherman by Guy Pène du Bois for USD 3,500.00 (€ 3,088.60). This price was achieved in the auction American Art Online at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Guy Pène du Bois achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Crowd [Self-Portrait|AID239202] in November 2012 with an auction result of USD 602,500.00 (€ 463,105.30).
