Auction result misses estimated price range
In May last year a collector was able to acquire the work Old Trinity Church at Wall Street and Broadway, The Bank of Montreal, the Irving Trust Co. by Guy Carleton Wiggins for USD 88,200.00 (€ 82,191.78). This price was achieved in the auction American Art at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Guy Carleton Wiggins - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Wall Street In Winter, which sold at auction in May 2017 for USD 200,000.00 (€ 177,999.29).
