This artwork by Gustave Singier achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in April this year. In the The Collector: New York auction, the work Nérée sold for USD 37,800.00 (€ 34,239.13) - well above the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Gustave Singier; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Intérieur Flamand sold at auction in June 2016 with the realized price of EUR 56,250.00.
