In March last year Sothebys in Paris held the auction Collection Monsieur et Madame Robert Schmit, Part II, which included the work La Pauvresse de village by Gustave Courbet. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 1,729,000.00 73% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Gustave Courbet have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Femme Nue Couchée in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 15,285,000.00 (€ 14,471,690.97).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 73 % übertroffen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in Paris die Auktion Collection Monsieur et Madame Robert Schmit, Part II durch, in der auch die Arbeit La Pauvresse de village von Gustave Courbet zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 1.729.000,00 und damit 73% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gustave Courbet auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Femme Nue Couchée im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 15.285.000,00 (€ 14.471.690,97).
