Auction result misses estimated price range
In February 2013 a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait Of An Actor, Half Length by Guillaume Voiriot for USD 18,750.00 (€ 14,335.96). This price was achieved in the auction Important Old Master Paintings and Sculpture at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Guillaume Voiriot - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait Of A Gentleman, Half-Length, Seated In A Red Velvet Jacket With A Violin, which sold at auction in January 2015 for USD 50,000.00 (€ 44,286.98).
