Guido Llinás (1923-2005) Abstracción (Abstraction) signed 'G.Llinás' (lower right) newsprint collage with gouache laid down on board 24 1 ⁄ 2 x 18 1 ⁄ 2 in. (62 x 47 cm.) Executed in 1957.
Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Abstracción (Abstraction) by Guido Llinás was auctioned at Christies in New York in October last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,512.00 (€ 1,522.05). Admittedly, works by Guido Llinás have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Gaulosies in November 2019 with an auction result of USD 13,750.00 (€ 12,478.45).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Abstracción (Abstraction) von Guido Llinás im Oktober letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.512,00 (€ 1.522,05) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Guido Llinás auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Gaulosies im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 13.750,00 (€ 12.478,45).
