Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work A rest on the way, Summer; and A rest on the way, Winter by Guido Bach was auctioned at Christies in London in August 2007. It achieved a price of GBP 1,440.00 (€ 2,128.70), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 20%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Guido Bach - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A young Italian water carrier lost in thought, which sold at auction in December 2005 for GBP 5,040.00 (€ 7,315.28).
