Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Yesil Yapsal ('Green Leaf') by Gulay Semercioglu was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Arab, Iranian and Turkish Art auction at Christies in Dubai in April 2011. The price achieved of USD 22,500.00 (€ 15,181.16) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 18,000.00 – 25,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gulay Semercioglu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Pink Thing, which sold at auction in April 2010 for GBP 31,250.00 (€ 35,962.64).

Die Arbeit Yesil Yapsal ('Green Leaf') von Gulay Semercioglu wurde im April 2011 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Arab, Iranian and Turkish Art bei Christies in Dubai versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 22.500,00 (€ 15.181,16) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 18.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Gulay Semercioglu mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Pink Thing beobachtet, die im April 2010 für GBP 31.250,00 (€ 35.962,64) versteigert wurde.
