Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work “Det röda rum” (The red room), 1972 by Gudmund Olsen was auctioned at Bruun Rasmussen in August this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of DKK 8,000.00 – 10,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for DKK 4,000.00 (€ 536.58). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gudmund Olsen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work “Opus V”, 1955 in March this year with an auction result of DKK 40,000.00 (€ 5,367.92).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit “Det röda rum” (The red room), 1972 von Gudmund Olsen im August diesen Jahres bei Bruun Rasmussen versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von DKK 8.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für DKK 4.000,00 (€ 536,58) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gudmund Olsen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit “Opus V”, 1955 im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von DKK 40.000,00 (€ 5.367,92).
