Auction result well in line with expectations
In December last year Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings, which included the work Moonlight by Guan Shanyue. The price achieved of HKD 327,600.00 (€ 39,258.10) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 260,000.00 – 360,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Guan Shanyue achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sketching in the Qilian Mountains in May 2013 with an auction result of HKD 9,390,000.00 (€ 931,191.87).
