Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction From Taddeo to Tiepolo: The Dr. John O’Brien Collection of Old Master Drawings, which included the work Madonna of Loreto Appearing to SS. Augustine and Paul by Gregorio de Ferrari. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 20,160.00 (€ 16,613.10) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Gregorio de Ferrari have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Rest on the Flight to Egypt in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 121,250.00 (€ 154,049.49).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion From Taddeo to Tiepolo: The Dr. John O’Brien Collection of Old Master Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Madonna of Loreto Appearing to SS. Augustine and Paul von Gregorio de Ferrari zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 20.160,00 (€ 16.613,10) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gregorio de Ferrari auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Rest on the Flight to Egypt im Juli 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 121.250,00 (€ 154.049,49).
