Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Untitled (6) by Greg Gong was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in January 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 637.50 (€ 525.34). Admittedly, works by Greg Gong have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled, 2014 in February this year with an auction result of USD 2,550.00 (€ 2,405.21).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Untitled (6) von Greg Gong im Januar 2021 bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 637,50 (€ 525,34) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Greg Gong auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled, 2014 im Februar diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.550,00 (€ 2.405,21).
