Here, the upper estimate of EUR 2,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for EUR 2,160.00. Admittedly, works by Govert van Emmerik have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A calm: shipping by a harbour entrance; Dutch sailingvessels attacking an English fleet in April 2002 with an auction result of EUR 11,950.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Approaching a harbour town by moonlight von Govert van Emmerik kam im Januar 2006 bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von EUR 2.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für EUR 2.160,00 einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Govert van Emmerik auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A calm: shipping by a harbour entrance; Dutch sailingvessels attacking an English fleet im April 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 11.950,00.
